It exists to give parents, students, and school counsellors a clear, plain-language understanding of what an SBIPA report is, how it is produced, and where responsibility sits between the student, the family, the school, and SBIPA.It forms part of the More Than Marks and SBIPA governance framework, sitting alongside the organization's policies on data protection, AI governance, and appeals. It is also relevant to school leaders, school IT and compliance teams, and education partners who need to understand how SBIPA reports are produced and what assurances apply to them, as well as to internal More Than Marks governance teams responsible for maintaining this policy.
Key highlights
- SBIPA is a developmental guidance tool — not a career prediction system, personality test, clinical or psychological assessment, or measure of intelligence or fixed potential.
- Scoring and narrative are strictly separated. Scores are produced by a fixed, rules-based system with no AI or human judgment involved. Only after scoring is complete does an AI-assisted system translate the results into plain language.
- The AI cannot invent facts. It is not permitted to calculate a score, decide a readiness level, or state anything about a student that is not already present in the calculated results.
- Every report is human-reviewed. A trained reviewer checks each report against writing standards before it reaches a family, and school counsellors — not the AI — discuss findings with families.
- Full traceability. Every part of a report can be traced back to the data that produced it.
- Consent-driven data handling. Student data is processed under India's DPDP Act, 2023, requiring verifiable parental or guardian consent before processing.
- No clinical determinations. Where a report flags something that may warrant further attention, it is surfaced as a prompt for the counsellor — not a diagnosis.
- A clear appeals path exists for factual errors, data-entry mistakes, or misrepresentations, handled under the Appeal, Evidence Management & Governance Policy
